We grew up on both sides of the Mediterranean, bathed in the most beautiful sunsets nature had to offer. That is what shaped our taste for dimly lit spaces with soft, warm light. To the point of chasing that familiar warmth in cinema, in art, in music, in every street we take pleasure in walking down. When you are far from home, even by choice, even for a while, beyond the joys of novelty and discovery, you always carry a little bit of your land with you.
Two years ago, when we moved to Barcelona, we wanted to bring a little of our vision and our aesthetic into this city we were discovering together. That is how Vannelle Canille was born. A collection of the city's best addresses, built for people who care about beauty and good taste the way we do. A way to carve a path through the inhospitable tumult that Barcelona can sometimes be. Any major city has its traps and its pitfalls. Over eight million people have been able to explore our guides and see the city in a light that blended the best of where we come from with the most beautiful things Barcelona had to offer.
To truly make a city your own, to feel at home in it, takes far more than spending time there. You have to get it wrong again and again, blindly follow the recommendations you see on the internet and… be disappointed. Until you find your gems. The little cafe that is "too local" for anyone to notice, the matcha bar the influencers have not descended on, that street corner where you took a stunning photo of the person you love. None of that happens in a week, not even in a month. But no traveller has that kind of time. A few days at most. You will not need us to go where everyone goes.
We will, however, make it our mission to show you the places that moved us, to let you taste the flavours that stayed with us, the ones that were worth spending a little of that time that slips through your fingers so quickly when you travel.
We designed our walks as an invitation and a conversation. About fifteen years ago, on a trip to Scotland, an Edinburgh local recommended his favourite restaurant. Nowhere to be found in any guide, of course. We felt like we had been let in on a secret, privileged that someone from here would share his place with us. You know that feeling. Once the meal arrives, the flavours are different. Everything feels exceptional because the one who knows, the one who truly knows, shared a small piece of home with you.
These days, that same eye goes into our photoshoots. Candid photography, editorial angles and the warm cinematic grade behind our 8M+ views, Instagram-ready content shot while we walk you through the city's most beautiful corners. Private photoshoots at sunrise on Barceloneta, aesthetic frames around the Sagrada Família, a bachelorette your whole group will actually want to post. We treat them the way we treat our walks: small, personal, and worth your time.
Through our guides, our walks and our photoshoots, we share with you a little of what Barcelona is to us.
